Committee Goals and Description

  • Accounting Trends
    Provide opportunities to enhance the understanding and compliance with new accounting principles and standards. Provide meaningful professional opportunities for networking and technical growth for accountants in auditing and industry.
  • Forensic & Valuation Services
    Aid in enhancing the skills and experience of CPAs involved in providing business valuation and litigation support services. Further professional and public awareness of the role of CPAs providing these services.
  • Golf Tournament
    Organize, manage and coordinate the Annual Golf Tournament.
  • Not-For-Profit
    Provide educational opportunities to Chapter members regarding accounting, auditing, and taxation issues for not-for-profit organizations and the state, local and federal government.
  • Government Contracting
    Provide technical training for CPAs working in the field of Government Contracting. Discussions include DCAA, budgeting and contracts.
  • Management of an Accounting Practice
    Provide a forum for the discussion of accounting practice management issues to ensure excellent professional service and profitable results.
  • New Professionals
    Provide opportunities for younger members and those new to the accounting profession to discuss career and work/family issues.
  • Personal Financial Planning & Estate Planning
    Provide informative and educational opportunities to members in their PFP practice. Seek ways to enhance the public's awareness and understanding of the unique services the CPA PFP offers. Discuss the special needs of the elderly and their families with members and other professionals who work with the elderly.
  • Professional Development
    Provides both soft and technical skills to improve the CPA in any field. Technology, Human Resources and other professional topics will be discussed. Enhance members' understanding of state-of-the-art technology and assist in technological implementation.
  • Tax
    Provide educational opportunities for Chapter members regarding federal, state, and local taxation issues.
