Committee Goals and Description

  • Accounting & Auditing
    Provide opportunities to enhance the understanding and compliance with new accounting principles and standards.
  • Chapter Seminars
    Identify topics, locate lecturers and organize occasional small half-day CPE seminars.
  • CPA Eldercare & Estate Planning
    Discuss the special needs of the elderly and their families with members and other professionals who work with the elderly.
  • Business Valuation & Litigation Support Services
    Aid in enhancing the skills and experience of CPAs involved in providing business valuation and litigation support services and to further professional and public awareness of the role of CPAs providing these services.
  • Golf Tournament
    Organize, manage and coordinate the Annual Golf Tournament.
  • Management of an Accounting Practice
    Provide a forum for the discussion of accounting practice management issues to ensure excellent professional service and profitable results.
  • Industry & Government
    Provide meaningful professional opportunities for networking and technical growth for accountants in business, industry and government.
  • Membership
    Recruit new members, particularly younger members, and retain current members in the Chapter. Answer potential members' questions about the Chapter and to make them feel welcome at Chapter events.
  • New Professionals
    Provide opportunity for younger members and those new to the accounting profession to discuss career and work/family issues.
  • Not-For-Profit
    Provide educational opportunities to Chapter members regarding accounting, auditing, and taxation issues for not-for-profit organizations.
  • Personal Financial Planning
    Provide informative and educational opportunities to members in their PFP practice. Seek ways to enhance the public's awareness and understanding of the unique services the CPA PFP offers.
  • Tax
    Provide educational opportunities for Chapter members regarding federal, state, and local taxation issues.
  • Technology
    Enhance members' understanding of state-of-the-art technology and assist in technological implementation. Maintain the Chapter website.
