FORUM A - 2:30 - 6:50 p.m. (5 CPE) IRS/TRI-STATE TAX UPDATE
Despite the stalemate on the Hill, Congress did manage to pass a few tax bills in 2011 containing important provisions you need to know. Adding to the mix, the failure of the Supercommitte to enact a deficit reduction plan has left many popular tax provisions set to expire at the end of 2011 and tax planning in limbo. Preparers face an increasingly uncompromising IRS with preparer penalties regarded as a revenue raiser. The States too have been more aggressive in their attempts to raise revenues.
On January 9th, come to the annual IRS /Tri-State Tax Update at the Tyson’s Corner Marriott, to learn what you need to know for the coming tax season and beyond. We will have presentations by representatives from the IRS (Herbert Mills), DC, MD (Chris Kolb), VA (Felecia Jones) and our own Sean O’Connell will provide an update on “what to be mindful of for tax preparation for the 2011 returns”. Beginning at 2:30 we will provide 5 hours of CPE. We will be posting the presenter’s power points on the web site as we receive them. Be sure to download the handouts before the meeting. This event is always a sellout so be sure to register early!! Sponsored by the Tax Committee. | |||||||||||
