IRS Initiatives – What you don't know could hurt you!
IRS is working very hard to close the Tax Gap and they are looking to your clients to help provide the funds. IRS has several initiatives going forward to help them do this and these may cause problems for your clients. To name only a few, there is The Automated Under Reporter program; Schedule C issues – is it a business or a hobby, are the expenses deductible; Employment Tax Issues; S Corporation Shareholder distributions; 1099 reporting. When you add to this the states' financial woes, we are facing a tough environment for our clients.
We will start the session with a presentation by Ron Feuerstein of Bean, Kinney, and Korman, P.C. on the IRS special employment tax initiative.
