COST:
The cost for the Holiday Hors D'oeuvre Buffet and 2 hrs. of CPE is included in your annual membership dues. The cost for non-members is $50 for Buffet and CPE's. (3 tickets for the "Night at the Races" will be included in this $50 charge.) A variety of foods will be offered at the buffet stations. If you RSVP for dinner and do not attend, there will be a $25 no show charge for members and $50 for non-members as the chapter must pay for missed dinners.

THE FUTURE OF ESTATE PLANNING
This Forum will look at the future of estate planning including any insight into federal changes and the current state of estate and business succession planning. Our discussion Leader, Scott A. Dondershine, will discuss estate planning in an environment of uncertainty. He will provide an update as to the proposals under consideration for fixing the federal estate tax system and then explain the use of A/B revocable trusts, insurance trusts and buy-sell planning given the current legislative environment.

Scott A. Dondershine, Esq., CPA is a partner at the law firm of David, Brody & Dondershine, LLP located in Reston, Virginia. His law firm specializes in providing general business advice concentrating in the areas of business formation, commercial and government contract review and drafting, business litigation, employment law, intellectual property law, tax law and estate and business succession planning. Scott is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and began his career in public accounting for a big eight CPA firm. Scott's client base includes start-up and emerging technology companies, government contractors, non-profit companies and individuals. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business, tax and estate planning law.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLANS FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS
In this Forum, Dan Smith will be discussing new opportunities for non qualified deferred compensation plans for small business owners and how the new living benefits can enhance these plans.

Dan Smith, a graduate of the University of Virginia, worked in the private sector of accounting for 20 years as controller and CFO. This career was in the mortgage and retail sectors. He transitioned into the Financial Services area and worked as a full service broker for a few years and then decided to concentrate on one area, Life Insurance. He currently is working for Hartford Life as a resource to other Financial Advisors.

Judith E. (Judy) Borsher, CPA, MBA, CITP, MCT is the principal of SCG Training and Consulting Corporation. SCG is a technology training firm in Alexandria, VA that creates and presents training programs and provides consulting and programming services to develop financial reporting solutions. She also is a long-time creator and presenter of technology CPE programs for the accounting community and since 1987 has delivered over 1,600 technology lectures with consistently high ratings. Prior to establishing SCG, Judy worked for KPMG in Washington, DC with a focus on business information systems, in industry finance positions and also with a national training company under contract with IBM, where she created, managed and presented technology training programs nationwide.

CREATING AND MAINTAINING AN OPERATING RESERVE IN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
An adequate Operating Reserve is a vital instrument for all non-profit organizations especially in the present economic times. This forum will touch on the common considerations for determining your organization's Operating Reserve requirements and tools for re-evaluating your current reserve policies.

Kenneth C. Euwema is presently the Vice President of Membership Accountability for the United Way Worldwide and is responsible for all membership accountability functions and management of the UW relationship with external groups like FASB, the IRS, BBB Wise Giving Alliance, and the US Office of CFC Operations. Ken is a frequent speaker at United Way conferences and seminars on a variety of topics including, IRS Form 990 and collaboration and merger amoung non-profits. Ken also created and teaches a very popular three-day course on United Way Financial Operations and Accountability.
