TAX ISSUES IN SPECIAL NEEDS & ELDERCARE PLANNING
Increasing longevity and medical advances have led to higher expenses for the disabled and elderly population. Employers and employees, and their tax advisors, must be aware of the tax strategies to maximize resources available to care for these populations. In this session, Christopher Waddell, CFP, will explore these strategies, including employer-sponsored long-term care plans, tax deductions, exemptions and credits, and Medicaid planning. Christopher is the Managing Principal of the Waddell Group, Vienna, VA, providing financial guidance for more than two decades. Since 2006, he has been named in the Consumer Research Council of America's Guide to America's Best Financial Planners. In January 2008, he appeared on Comcast CNN's Headliners and Newsmakers, and in June 2008, on CNBC's Power Lunch with Hampton Pearson. He is adjunct faculty at Georgetown University, teaching investment and financial planning to professionals pursuing post-graduate education. He is currently co-chair of the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the NCVSCPA.

Sponsored by Tax Committee.
