President's Letter
Dear Members,
HAPPY NEW YEAR! The Northern Chapter’s Board wishes all of you a healthy, happy and prosperous 2012. Our December meeting forums covered discussions on special needs planning, Federal contracting regulatory update, corporate IT, non-profit legal audits and exploring emotional intelligence. During our dinner, the McLean High School quartet played wonderful holiday music while the members dined on a sumptuous buffet dinner.
What was extended and what wasn't? Are you really up-to-date on all the Federal, DC., MD., and VA tax law changes for 2011 or has the flood of new tax laws left your head spinning? Join us for the Annual NCVSCPA Tri-State and IRS Tax Update and start tax season on the right foot on MONDAY, JANUARY 9th, to be held at the TYSON’S MARRIOTT. Beginning at 2:30 until 6:50 PM, you can earn 5 hours of CPE while getting the current word from the experts. Representatives from IRS, District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia will update latest information regarding tax changes. 2011 is another year with much to learn to be properly prepared for filing season. This event is always a sell out so be sure to register early!!!
Jeff Kulik, Senior VP for Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Company, Inc. (FIIS), a division of Fidelity Investments, will be our JANUARY DINNER SPONSOR. A 25 year veteran of the industry, he joined Fidelity in 1997, and is responsible for the sales of Fidelity mutual fund products through financial institutions, financial planners, insurance firms and wirehouse firms in the Mid-Atlantic region. He will be speaking on Retirement Income Planning. We thank Jeff Kulik and Fidelity for their support.
After you have registered for the meeting, you will receive an e-mail notifying you when the Tri-state Tax handouts will be available on the website. The meeting handouts will not be distributed at the meetings.
Many of our committees meet on a regular basis. I recommend that you look at the “Committee Meeting Section of the Newsletter” for the schedule of upcoming meetings as the committees have planned informative and stimulating programs.
